LIFEPLAN BY INSIGHTWAY
Build a plan in four steps
Start with a budget, capture opening balances, add dated life events and compare projections while keeping the assumptions visible.
1. Establish a budget
Enter monthly income, taxes, expenses and savings. Check the budget before treating its savings allocation as a reliable contribution assumption.
2. Capture opening balances
Record assets and liabilities at one opening date. Existing savings belong in opening balances; future contributions belong in the budget. Keep these distinct to avoid counting the same money twice.
3. Add dated events
Choose a relevant event and review each financial leg. A home purchase, for example, can combine an asset acquisition, borrowing, fees and recurring expenses. Only include legs that apply to your scenario.
4. Compare and revisit
Run and save scenarios, vary one assumption at a time and compare results. Revisit the plan when circumstances change. A scenario is an explanation of assumptions, not individualized investment, tax or legal advice.
